GBTK - Give it a Tri
It was a crazy 4th of July holiday weekend. Busy, busy, busy! But I had a lot fo fun. Got to see the new Eri Canal harbor on the waterfront in Buffalo... yes they are developing and it's exciting. It's really nice down there. A great place to go and hang out and be near the water. Can't wait to see what it will all unfold to be in the months, years to come.
I was able to still get my workouts in and not over indulge in "grill out" delights. I was even able to get a pseudo workout in as Marley and I did a hike through the Griffis Sculpture Park near Ellicotville. Pretty cool place to see. It's an outdoor museum with a steep uphill climb to the top that left both Marley and I sweating and panting.
This climb up one of the sculptures is actually more trecherous then it looks. My sneakers were wet and the round metal steps made for some slipping of the shoes. I'll admit I was slightly nervous and was holding on with my hands for dear life.

And I made it to the top...

But if you're ever in the area I highly suggest taking a hike around this park. Bring a pack with a nice lunch and it's a great day trip.
I made 1 1/2 miles running today and probably could have gone further but was dealing a slight cramp so I slowed to a fast walk. I think I'll be at 2 miles by early next week. I am defintely seeing some changes thanks to my training as I have thankfully lost 15 pounds since June 2. This will help out tremendously as I have this ceremony coming up in October. I can't let Marley be the "belle of the ball". Again, with her muppet like good looks.
Peace all!
